Waste & Recycling Information

Bulk and E-Cycle Collection

For bulk items, residents must call Johns Disposal (262-473-4700) to schedule an appointment prior to placing the items at the curb to be collected. Residents can request one (1) bulk pickup per month.
Construction material & remodeling debris should be cut down and placed into 32 gallon or smaller containers (not your toters). Each container no more than 60 pounds.
There will no longer be Electronic Recycling Events. Instead, residents may choose to substitute ONE household electronic to be collected in lieu of ONE of the bulk pickups, twice a year.

 Garbage Collection

The Village of East Troy contracts for residential garbage and recycling collection with John's Disposal Service Inc. Garbage collection is every Tuesday and recycling is every other Tuesday. Calendar schedules are available on John's Disposal's website.

The charge for garbage collection for the prior year is placed on the property tax bill as a separate item. This collection fee is assessed per residential unit per address. John's Disposal will supply the collection bins, or toters, for both garbage and recycling to be compatible with their automated collection system. The toters are assigned by serial number to the address delivered and should stay with the address should the resident change.

Further questions may be directed to John's Disposal at 888-473-4701.

What is E-Cycle?

Wisconsin’s electronics recycling law establishes a statewide recycling program administered by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The program, called E-Cycle Wisconsin, puts in place a system to collect and recycle discarded electronics from Wisconsin households, K-12 public schools and Parental Choice Program schools.
