Door-to-Door Canvassing - Working America

The Village of East Troy has been notified that Working America, a community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, will be conducting door-to-door canvassing in the Village beginning August 26,2026, and continuing through December 26, 2026. This activity is legally permitted in Wisconsin and is considered constitutionally protected political speech, meaning no local permit is required.

Canvassing typically occurs between 3:00pm and 9:00pm. Working America canvassers may wear red vests and carry official identification. They focus on conversations about public issues and do not see products.

Residents are not required to engage, may decline conversation, and may ask canvassers to leave their property at any time, which must be respected.
