Running for the three positions of Village Board at the Spring Election, April 2, 2024 will be Fortune "Forty" Renucci, James Holm and Jason Smalley. The candidate for Municipal Judge is Michael Patrick Cotter.

Attention Absentee Ballot Voters! The look of the envelopes has changed but the process remains the same. there are clear instructions included for voting and returning your Absentee Ballot. Absentee Ballots may be returned to our office by mail or in-person. Ballots may NOT be returned in our outside drop boxes. Doing so may cause your ballot to be rejected. All Absentee Ballots MUST be returned by 8:00 pm on Election Day to be counted. 

Also, remember to sign and date your Absentee Ballot envelope in the yellow, highlighted area AND to have your WITNESS SIGN AND INCLUDE THEIR ADDRESS in the yellow, highlighted areas. Failure to do so may result in your ballot not being accepted.

Where Do I Vote? The Village of East Troy Municipal Building at 2015 Energy Dr. (North entrance).  The Polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. You will need to SHOW your Photo ID, STATE your name and address out loud and SIGN the poll book.

How Do I Register to Vote? You must be registered to vote and we encourage you to do this prior to Election Day. There are several ways to register:

Before 3 weeks prior to the election:

1. Eligible voters who hold a valid State of Wisconsin Driver's License or State ID Card that has their current name and address on file with the WI DMV are able to register to vote online up to 20 days prior to an election - without  needing to print, mail or sign their registration form or provide additional Proof of Residence. This Voter Registration is available through MyVoteWI.

2. Complete a paper Registration form (one may be picked up at the Clerk’s Office at Village Hall or printed from the Wisconsin Election Commission website. Once completed, the form, along with your Proof of Residency (see the back of the form for acceptable documents), may be returned to the Clerk’s Office (2015 Energy Dr.), dropped off in-person or placed in the drop box.

Less than 3 weeks prior to the election: Registration is only allowed in-person at the Clerk’s Office. The Voter Registration forms and your proof of Residency should be brought to the Clerk’s Office (2015 Energy Dr.) and these will be accepted during regular office hours of Monday - Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with extended hours until 5 pm on the Friday prior to the election.

Election Day registration is allowed in Wisconsin however you should plan for additional time and have the required Proof of Residency, showing that you have lived in the municipality for 28 consecutive days prior to the Election.  

We encourage residents to prepare ahead of time to participate in the election by making sure their registration is current and accurate.  Registration is required if you are a new resident in the Village of East Troy, if you have changed your name or if you have changed your address within the Village – even if you have only changed apartments. By preparing ahead of the Election you will save time.  If it has been a while since you have voted, or you are unsure of your registration status, please visit MyVoteWI and select the My Voter Info tab to determine your registration status.

Absentee Voting: All requests for an Absentee Ballot must be in writing by the elector. If you are registered you may request an absentee ballot at MyVoteWI or use the paper form available here - Application for Absentee BallotComplete the form and return it to Village Clerk's Office, 2015 Energy Dr., East Troy,  WI  53120.  The application must be received no later than 5:00 PM on the Thursday before the election in order for an absentee ballot to be mailed to you.
